     Same cat, same pose, this time in blue. 

 

Day 6

     I had a long skinny little canvas so I thought I’d try painting a long skinny little kitten. Here is my first attempt"


And then I did too much <sigh>


So next I tried doing a water color kitty, this time on water color paper:

Day 5

     On Day 5 I took my crazy cat and started covering him over with leftover paint.  In the process I noticed that his eyes still remained, peeking out from underneath the paint. This I thought was cool, so I scratched in some whiskers and thus became my painting of a jungle cat.  Amazing how a looser painting can reinvent itself!

A crazy 1 eyed cat. Did I mention it's harder than it looks? So here's my attempt at rehabilitating my cat:

Things weren't getting better so I reminded myself that the goal was only to paint a painting a day; I didn't need to like the painting.......

     Also at art class we experimented with painting acrylic like water colors by painting cats.  It's harder than it looks and somewhat unpredictable to know how the paint will flow and blend.....

30 Day Painting Challenge

For the month of June I painted a painting a day.  My first day challenge was met easily as I did it in art class.

June 1

Our wonderful teacher, Kathy Taylor, from Studio 6020, taught us how to make an acrylic painting resemble an oil painting this effect was enhanced by rubbing the finished painting with cold wax.
